Motorcyclist Killed in North Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ — An investigation is ongoing by Phoenix Police into the cause of a crash that left a motorcyclist dead in north Phoenix.  Around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, emergency crews responded to the crash near Cave Creek and Utopia Roads.

During the initial investigation, detectives learned that the driver of a Peterbilt truck made a left turn onto Utopia and crashed with a motorcycle that was headed north on Cave Creek Road.

The crash caused the motorcycle to continue across the roadway into oncoming traffic and striking another vehicle.  The motorcyclist, identified as Alexander Ventseslavov, died at the scene.

Phoenix Police stated that neither impairment nor speed are believed to be factors in this collision.
